I don’t like religion. At all. I find it unhealthy. They brainwash people, cause hatred, spread and encourage ignorance, state misinformation (Particularly when it comes to sex education), are racist, homophobic, sexist, etc. While I am polite to people who are religious (I go to a Catholic school so they’re everywhere). I have utterly no respect for someone who is religious. You have to respect peoples’ existence. Religion is an idea and you don’t have to respect it.

i find genderfluid “identities” or whatever the hell they are to be highly offensive. it is impossible to be no gender. there is a fuck ton of science proving you wrong!

you’re basically a crossdresser who decided that wasn’t special snowflake enough for you so you made up something else to feel special!

“but fish can-” NO! you’re not a god damn fish! you’re a fucking human, deal with it!

forcing people to call you bullshit pronouns so you feel special is transphobic! facebook giving in to your tranphobic bullshit is sickening

the-unpopular-opinions:

I sincerely wish people would stop with all their sexuality and gender nonsense. It frightens me that there are actual flags and a following for most things people make up. The above picture is untrue because everyone notices appearance.

Look. There is only male and female. That’s the way it is. It’s that simple. There are people who were born one but feel like the other, and that’s fine, but there’s nothing in between, and you can’t be both either. I don’t know if you can understand it, but it’s pretty normal to have certain qualities that are typically seen as masculine or feminine. That doesn’t make you a whole different gender, nor does it mean that you lack one.

“Gender is a social construct!” some people say, and I find that ridiculous. There are societal expectations, one would have to be a moron not to see that. There are things, ideas etc. that are thought of as typically masculine or feminine. But it’s not all created by some conspiracy to oppress everyone. I think it’s quite offensive for them to think that we all live our lives by these rules. I am a person who happens to be a girl. I don’t constantly think “I like video games, that is masculine” or “I like doing my hair, that is feminine.” I just do things.

Do you know what? You who claim to be a different gender or not to have one, to be pansexual or whatever, you are to LGBT rights what SJWs are to feminism. You give people who are LGBT a bad name. You are making a mockery of a real issue and are making people not want to take actual problems seriously. Because being LGBT is now seen as normal (generally speaking) you feel you have to make up an entirely new sexuality in order to feel different and it pisses me off. I don’t care if you genuinely believe you lack a gender or are pansexual, you are not. Things won’t be different for you in 30 years because nobody will take you seriously then either. It’s the same as it was for feminism. First wave feminists had to stand out in order to make themselves heard, but now they have enough support that people have come to their senses and realised that we need equality for men and women, not one over the other.

Regarding SJWs, etc, I think people need to stop and think for a few minutes about who they’re dealing with…

To those calm, rational folks out there who decry the SJW/feminist/radfem/otherkin/body-positive/whatevers of this site, you need to understand something…

They’re not going to listen to you.

You’re trying to argue with the next generation of religious fundamentalists, except instead of Jesus, they’re obsessed with the idea of oppression, victimhood, and privilege.

They don’t CARE that over 40% of rapists are women, or that new studies are coming out showing that there is no such thing as “healthy obesity,” or that affirmative action programs and racial quotas are inherently wrong in and of themselves, or that there is no wage gap between the sexes, only a choice gap. They don’t care.

To them, you’re lying, misinformed, uneducated, or bigoted. They don’t even consider the possibility that you might be right, because to do so would mean changing their entire belief system and acknowledging that they’re being even more bigoted than those they label as bigots.

They are so obsessed with the idea that they are oppressed victims and you are privileged scum or brainwashed by “society,” that they will go to great lengths to silence you, including hunting you down to ruin your life.

You need to understand that these aren’t right-thinking people. They are so passive-aggressively pissed off at imaginary demons and so convinced that name-calling is a good reason to ruin someone’s life, that they are perfectly willing to post facebook/personal-info links to the pages of people who make off-color jokes or troll them, completely stone cold to the fact that they essentially just ruined another person’s life and livelihood over a few heated words exchanged over the internet of all places.

These are people who claim to embody the spirit of Dr. King or Gandhi or any other great pacifist political leader of our time, but are completely lost on the irony that their seething blind anger at those who disagree with them is not only unwarranted, but is straight-up BULLYING, plain and simple. You can’t fight fire with fire. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

This is a group of people who have put economic issues on the back burner in favor of social issues: Instituting a Single Payer healthcare system, or protecting the environment by buying less, or promoting contraception, or fighting for a livable wage aren’t as important as fighting for the right to get married, or to get as high as a kite, or to grant amnesty to people who enter this country illegally, lost on the irony of what the word “illegal” means because, you know, a heart-wrenching story of personal struggle trumps the law just like rock crushes scissors.

Do yourselves a favor… when these denizens of hyper Political Correctness rear their ugly heads… ignore them. Because you’re never going to convince them, no matter how many facts you throw their way.

You’re talking to people who are ruled by emotion rather than logic, despite their claims to the contrary, and because of that, no amount of rational discourse is even possible, let alone practical and productive.

It’s the easiest thing in the world to turn yourself into an extremist for a particular cause, and these sorts of people have let themselves become lost in extremism and avarice while calling it victimhood.

Don’t give them the time of day. You won’t get anywhere.

the-unpopular-opinions:

The trans* community perpetuate gender roles more than any other group of people.

Unless you’re in the very small minority that genuinely have gender dysphoria, deeming yourself trans* on the basis that you’re female and like typically male things or vice versa is effectively saying ABC are feminine traits and XYZ are masculine traits, and identifying yourself as another gender based on these ridiculous notions.

If you’re female but occasionally enjoy engineering or wearing baggy pants you are not gender fluid, you’re literally just a girl who happens to like engineering and baggy pants.

If you’re male but occasionally enjoy painting your nails and trying on bikinis, you’re not gender fluid, you’re not a female trapped in a male’s body, you’re literally just a boy who happens to have an uncommon liking for painted nails and bikinis.

the-unpopular-opinions:

Basic manners should be constantly reinforced as standard, everyone should have them. It annoys me when people are mocked for using ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ in everyday conversation. It’s not formal, it’s just simple decency.
