What do you say instead of “I love you” for other quadrants?
Okay, so, I was wondering about what you would say to your Moirail, Kismesis etc. instead of “I love you”. You might think that you say:
Red: I love you
Pale: I love you platonically
Ashen: Play nice
Black: I hate you/Fuck you
But they don’t really capture the essence of each quadrant. So what we tried to do was capture the essence of each quadrant (apart from Redrom (♥)) and find a word for all of them. What ended up happening was we created the pattern of the word format being lo_e, with the “_” being a consonant. Let’s begin analyzing the quadrants.
Blackrom (♠) is more than just “I hate you”. It’s not just hate, because there’s such a thing as platonic hate in troll romance, according to the wiki. It is more a mixture of loathing and sexual attraction. It shares similar qualities to Redrom (♥), but instead of a loving lust it is more of a hatred lust. It’s love/hate, if you will. For this reason, we made the word lote, with is a portmanteau of love and hate, and it aptly sounds like the word loathe. Eg. “I lote you so much, Vriska.”
Pale (♦) “is a form of guardianship, but it isn’t simply about being platonic soul bros forever”, so if you have a Moirallegiance in that sense, then maybe you’re just bffs. Seeing as the pale (♦) quadrant is still romance, but is not Redrom (♥), it is more or less translates into the human love of siblings, which has no means of reproduction. It is sort of like a mix of loving and liking someone, like you would a best friend, or a sibling. So we came up with the portmanteau of loke (which is love/like). Nepeta and Equius loke eachother.
Ashen (♣), as quoted directly from the MSPA Wiki is “unlike the other quadrants, ashen feelings have only been shown and have suggested to be only felt by the auspistice and not the two parties in the mediated relationship.” Take Eridan♣Kanaya♣Vriska for instance, Eridan and Vriska are in a Blackrom (♠) relationship but Kanaya feels that she needs to intervene to make sure that Eridan’s and Vriska’s Kismesisitute doesn’t get out of hand. Also from the wiki:
“It may be permissible for a troll to be involved in more than one ashen triad at a time according to Karkat’s suggestion that he auspisticise between Rose and Kanaya in order for Kanaya to auspisticise between Terezi and Gamzee. This comment may also indicate that there can be auspistices for redrom relationships as well.”
But we won’t be going into mediation of redrom today, as it is just a theory. Capturing a word for this was difficult, because such a word would have to encase the meaning of "You two can hate each other all you want, but I don’t want this to become more violent than it has to be". The word Auspistice is a portmanteau of “auspicious” (fortunate, promising) and “armistice” (truce.) It may be similar to the ancient Greek concept of αγάπη (agápē), or “selfless love,” since the auspistice doesn’t get anything out of this directly. For this quadrant we picked the word loxe because the x is like a cross saying “no to violent Kismesissitudes”
So what you can say to your moirail/kismesis/couple you’re mediating is
The trans* community perpetuate gender roles more than any other group of people.
Unless you’re in the very small minority that genuinely have gender dysphoria, deeming yourself trans* on the basis that you’re female and like typically male things or vice versa is effectively saying ABC are feminine traits and XYZ are masculine traits, and identifying yourself as another gender based on these ridiculous notions.
If you’re female but occasionally enjoy engineering or wearing baggy pants you are not gender fluid, you’re literally just a girl who happens to like engineering and baggy pants.
If you’re male but occasionally enjoy painting your nails and trying on bikinis, you’re not gender fluid, you’re not a female trapped in a male’s body, you’re literally just a boy who happens to have an uncommon liking for painted nails and bikinis.
Basic manners should be constantly reinforced as standard, everyone should have them. It annoys me when people are mocked for using ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ in everyday conversation. It’s not formal, it’s just simple decency.
I hate to be that person but perhaps the reason that ‘all straight people’ feel the need to phrase things like this carefully is because everything and anything a straight person says can be twisted into something homophobic etc when it isn’t. Because straight/white/cis people are awful according to this website, and aren’t allowed to say anything.
